Spanish Immersion in Mexico
Learning Spanish abroad in Cuernavaca, Mexico is one of many language immersion programs offered by AmeriSpan. Diversity is the word that best describes Mexico’s people and geography. Over 50 different indigenous groups, each with its own language, comprise 28% of Mexico’s 83 million inhabitants. Divided by the Tropic of Cancer into the temperate North and the tropical South, the country boasts snow-capped volcanoes, jungle clad beaches, deserts, archeological ruins, modern cities, upscale resorts, and isolated villages.
Learn Spanish Language in Mexico:
Known as “The City of Eternal Spring,” Cuernavaca is blessed with a perfect climate and flowers year-round. The city is located only about 50 miles south of Mexico City. Cuernavaca is a popular weekend spot for the affluent from the capital because of the many restaurants, sidewalk cafes, and theaters.
School Facilities:
Upscale residential area, 15 minute walk from the central plaza. 2 buildings blended in together. Indoor and outdoor classes. Nice facilities with swimming pools, garden, small library, cafeteria selling food/snacks. Capacity is 325 students/day.
Participants:
Mainly from US. Half are university groups, the other half of mixed ages.
Accreditation Memberships:
Member of AATSP and ACTFL. Affiliated with SCOLT, MaFLA, NYSFLT, OFLA, IFLTA, CRIZMAC, WAFLT, PNFLA, NABE, MAFLT, FLAVA, and GWAAFLT. Approved for credit through several US institutions.
Other:
An additional campus in Buenavista: a small, rural town in the mountains 1 hour south of Cuernavaca. A "gringo-free" environment. Accommodations in homestays or dorm at the school campus. Not possible to come here your first week. You sign up for Buenavista in Cuernavaca.
