Spanish Immersion in Ecuador
Learning Spanish abroad in Quito, Ecuador is one of many language immersion programs offered by AmeriSpan. Ecuador was named for its position on the Equator and is bordered by Colombia, Peru and the Pacific Ocean. Not many countries as small as Ecuador have such diverse climate regions. This country has the tallest active volcano in the world, great white sand beaches, tropical rainforests, deep crevasses, colorful Indian markets and is well known for its social and political stability.
Learn Spanish Language in Ecuador:
Located in a beautiful valley and surrounded by snow-capped peaks of the Andes, Quito is surprisingly friendlier and safer feeling than other large Latin American cities. Furthermore, Quito has kept its colonial charm in spite of growing to a size of 1.4 million. Situated at 9,000 feet above sea level, the temperature averages 60-70 degrees (F) during the day and 40-50 degrees during the night. It is easy to reach most parts of the country in less than a day from Quito.
With good facilities and a staff that is both friendly and professional, our Quito programs offer a good value to language students of all ages.
School Facilities:
A big, brand new building with about 20 bright class rooms, patio with fountain, small business center, audiovisual room, entertainment room for students, indoor basketball court, cafeteria selling snacks and small meals, and a huge terrace overlooking Quito and the mountains. The school is located on the north side of the city in a quiet residential area very close to various public transportation lines. Capacity is 80 Students/day.
Participants:
Half from Europe, half from US. The majority are professionals and university students.
Accreditation Memberships:
Recognized by Bildungsurlaub in Germany. Approved for academic credit by several US Institutions including Brookhaven College

- Takes a few days to get used to the high altitude (those with bad hearts, check with a doctor)
- Air pollution from buses is heavy in some areas of the city.
