Learn Spanish in Heredia
Spanish Immersion in Costa Rica
Learning Spanish abroad in Heredia, Costa Rica is one of many language immersion programs offered by AmeriSpan. Known as the Switzerland of Central America, Costa Rica has an abundance of natural beauty and is populated by a friendly, well-educated people. Costa Rica has obtained the highest standard of living in Central America by embracing democracy and disbanding its army. This small country is a paradise for nature lovers with national parks, jungles, volcanoes, beaches, and more water per square mile than any other country in the world, excluding New Zealand. However, the small pre-Columbian indigenous population was wiped out by diseases brought to the new world by the conquistadors.
Learn Spanish Language in Costa Rica:
Heredia (pop 50,000) is located 6 miles north of San Jose. The city and its surrounding areas provide all the conveniences of a medium-sized city in an environment, which has escaped, to a large extent, the normal urban problems affecting the capital. The city has a surprisingly youthful and urban feeling despite its small size. This is due to the presence of the many young Costa Ricans attending the National University. Many of Costa Rica’s famous coffee plantations surround Heredia where one can still see ox-carts loaded with beans.
School Facilities:
A few blocks from the central plaza with easy access to shops, entertainment, transportation. A large, older, comfortable, Spanish colonial-style house. Security guard on duty during school to ensure students' safety. Several classrooms, dance studio, kitchen, and a green area. Capacity is 120/students/day.

Majority from US and Canada, some from Germany and Switzerland. During summer many college students, otherwise mainly ages 19-40. Also, English is taught to locals here.
