Learning Portuguese abroad in Sao Paulo, Brazil is one of many language immersion programs offered by AmeriSpan. Originally colonized by Portugal, Brazil is by far the largest country in South America. It is a country diverse in culture, landscape, and style. The country is covered by dense Amazon rainforest in the north and central regions. The coastal regions of Brazil offer some of the most famous and beautiful beaches in the world. Each city in Brazil has its own unique character ranging from the modern capital of Brasilia to the tourist capital of Rio de Janeiro to the port city of Maceio. Portuguese is the language spoken in Brazil.

The biggest city in South America and one of the three largest in the world, Sao Paulo is considered one of Latin America's most important industrial and financial centers. It is the industrial center of Brazil, responsible for over 30% of Brazil's annual GNP and headquarters to the majority of Brazilian and multinational corporations. Strong industrial development and cultural diversity have provided Sao Paulo with the largest, most cultured and educated middle class in Brazil. Sao Paulo offers the excitement and nightlife of one of the world's most dynamic cities.
School Facilities:
The school is now located in the neighborhood of Jardins, an upscale area of Sao Paulo, with easy access to any part of the city. There is an abundance of shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. A large university is located nearby. The school offers a casual atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor space for studying and relaxing. Free email service is available to the students. The school is located in a converted villa with 6 classrooms, an entertainment room with Internet, TV, DVD player, stereo, and mineral water and coffee, free of charge. We also have a kitchen with microwave and refrigerator. Capacity is 30 students per day.

The marjority are from Europe. Some from U.S. and China. Mostly university students and professionals.
