Rabat, the quiet and French-influenced capital, is home to some of Morocco's most important monuments and historical sites. They are all easily accessible to groups since all points of interest inside Rabat are within walking distance. Students can explore the centuries old palaces and mosques or meander the marketplaces established in medieval times. Rabat's central location puts it within easy reach of other destinations, such as, Casablanca, Fes, Tangier, and Marrakech. With its mild climate, friendly people, and safe streets, Rabat makes the perfect setting for groups of all ages to study Arabic.

Established by the Almohad dynasty in the 12th century, Rabat has been the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco since independence in 1956.This quiet, French-influenced capital is home to Morocco's most important monuments, such as the Royal Palace surrounded by the Andalusian Gardens, the Hassan Mosque which dominates the whole city with its tower and the ruins of Chellah. Its original town, known as the Medina, is complemented by the modern section built by the French. With the city center of Rabat being very compact, all points of interest are within walking distance. With the largest number of restaurants in the country, during Ramadam, the city is quite lively in the evenings. If you would like to enjoy a day or weekend at the beach, the costal village of Skhirate is only 20 minutes away by train.
Morocco is located in North Africa, close to Gibraltar and Spain. It is often thought of as a gateway to Africa, and therefore has a diverse cultural identity including influences from the French, Spanish and other Mediterranean countries in addition to its Islamic roots. In one trip to Morocco, one can experience the beautiful beaches, ancient markets, delicious local food and mountain beauty.
