Host School:
The Activa program consists of 7 hours per day of instruction and cultural components broken down into 4 hours per day of language instruction and 3 hours per day of activities and cultural visits (museums, cathedrals, local markets, etc.) with your teacher. Homestay and additional items included in the standard immersion program are also included in the Activa program.
A full day of fun is scheduled for this course and it is a terrific way to explore, learn, and experience Antigua.

In a country that treasures its colonial past, Antigua is a prized possession. One of the most beautiful colonial cities in all of Latin America, Antigua is known for its charm and relaxed atmosphere that attracts students and travelers from all parts of the world. Antigua is a popular destination for language study.
Guatemala is recognized as the cultural center of the pre-discovered New World. As the origin of the mysterious Mayan Civilization and still predominantly indigenous, the country offers some of the continent's richest folklore. The cultural blend of the indigenous, Spanish and African peoples can be seen in many aspects of daily life. Ancient rituals are intertwined with Christianity. Moreover, there is an abundance of high quality, low-priced handmade goods.
Participants: Most are from the US and Europe and there is a wide age range.

Program Notes
- Airport pickup: $25
- Airport Pickup Comments: Please arrive before 9.30 pm. If you arrive after 9.30pm, airport pickup is subject to availability and when possible, a late pickup fee of $15 will be applied.
If NOT opting for the pick-up service, please arrive to lodging only during the following times: between 10am and noon or between 6pm and 8pm.
- Extra homestay nights: $30/night or $105/week
- Extra residence nights: $30/night or $85/week
- Add $30/week for homestay upgrade (private bathroom)
