In addition to Italian language classes, this combination course offers participants the ability to learn the techniques of working, decorating and baking clay the artigianale way in a typical, Sorrentine ceramics studio. On request, excursions can also be arranged to Vietri, one of the most famous and beautiful towns of the Costiera Amalfitana, known worldwide for its ceramics.

Sorrento stands on a dramatic line of 150-foot cliffs, looking north across the Bay of Naples. It was originally a Greek village whose name was derived from the mythical song of the mermaids. Sorrento is a flower-filled town which draws thousands of national and international visitors. The small town center boasts an impressive cathedral, a Franciscan church with a distinctive 13th-century cloister, and many lovely seaside restaurants and cafes. Sorrento is a gateway to the romantic island of Capri as well as the historic city of Pompeii.
Known for its diverse regions, rich culture, and fabulous food, boot-shaped Italy possesses perhaps the most instantly identifiable physical shape of any country in the world. You can visit Roman ruins, gawk at Renaissance art, stay in tiny hill towns, ski the Alps, explore the canals of Venice, and see more churches than you can imagine. Naturally, you can indulge in the elementary pleasures of good food, improving your wardrobe, and seeking out "la dolce vita." From its beaches to its Alpine mountains, Italy vibrates with a special soul that is reflected in its people, music, and art.
