AmeriSpan's Program for Spanish Teachers in Barcelona, Spain is designed for non-native Spanish teachers who wish to expand upon and update their knowledge of second language methodologies and theories.
Through daily workshops and lectures, the program provides professional support, giving and exchanging information on the development and new uses of Spanish. The course also touches on the most controversial formal aspects of Spanish grammar. The current cultural, political, social, and economic situations in Spain and Mexico are key elements of the program.

Barcelona, a city of 2 million, is literally bursting with art and culture. The colorful and intricate architecture created by the world famous Gaudi, the Gothic Neighborhood, and the pedestrian street Las Ramblas make this city a traveler and art lovers paradise. Known as Spain's second capital and host of the 1992 summer Olympics, Barcelona is a modern metropolis and cultural mecca. Located on the Mediterranean coast with mountains rising up behind it, Barcelona is the gateway from Spain to the rest of Europe. Both beach and ski resorts are within easy access.
From its dazzling beaches to its ancient castles, Spain is a country as diverse as the cultures which have influenced its art, architecture, music and lifestyle. It is a land where cathedrals and castles are interspersed with skyscrapers, where modern rock mixes with flamenco guitar, and night clubs compete with cozy "tapas" bars. Spain offers some of the world's most famous museums, resorts, and festivals, making it a unique and enchanting destination.
Participants: This program is open to Spanish educators or education students planning to teach Spanish.
Other: Important note: There is a required minimum of 3 participants. If there is only 1 participant he/she will be placed in private classes (3hrs/day) at an additional cost of $975.
The program is available year-round, beginning any Monday, as private classes at the above additional cost.
