AmeriSpan's Program for German Teachers in Vienna, Austria gives non-native teachers of German an opportunity to update their language skills and share past classroom experiences with international colleagues and teaching staff at the language school.
The program includes 20 hrs/week of classes, lectures, and workshops where participants will receive information on the latest geographical, political and literary developments in Austria and the German-speaking world. The course will provide teachers with suggestions and new ideas that can be put into practice upon returning to his/her home classroom.

During the 18th to 20th centuries, Vienna was known as the musical capital of the world and home to the musical geniuses of Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, and Brahms, just to name a few. Today it remains a city of strong musical heritage because of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna State Opera and the Music Conservatory. It has also been known for its cultural and outstanding educational institutions which is evident in its numerous museums and art galleries. Vienna is a relaxed city.
Landlocked by its central European neighbors, Austria is an enchanting place with a rich cultural legacy, thriving art scene, melting pot of architectural styles and spectacular landscapes. A country with four distinct seasons, Austria's Alps have some of the best skiing in the world along with plenty of opportunity for hiking and biking and other breathtaking outdoor activities for nature enthusiasts. Participants: This program is targeted towards non-native German language teachers who work with young people and/or adults. We do not recommend this course for teachers who work with young children.
