Host School:
China's Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi, known as HSK, is the standardized test at the state level designed and developed by the HSK Center of Beijing Language and Culture University to assess the Chinese proficiency of non-native speakers. The test is mainly for foreigners, overseas Chinese and students of Chinese national minorities. Certified by the Chinese Ministry of Education, the China National Committee for Chinese Proficiency Test supervises the HSK and the issues the Chinese proficiency certificates.
A staff of experienced teachers will help students improve listening, speaking, reading, and writing ability in preparation for the HSK Exam. The HSK Preparation Program runs for 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 weeks prior to the exam date so the test can be taken immediately after the course. There is an official test center in Hangzhou.
The HSK exams exist at levels:
HSK Threshold For students with fewer than 200 hours of Chinese language study
HSK Basic For students with fewer than 800 hours of modern Chinese language study
HSK Elementary-Intermediate For students with few than 2000 hours of modern Chinese language study
HSK Advanced For students with fewer than 3000 hours of modern Chinese language study

The citys West Lake is recognized as the most beautiful lake in all of China. In the same way cherry blossoms represent Japan, the osmanthus tree embodies the vibrant spirit of Hangzhou. This city spirit can also be seen throughout the year during one of its many festivals including, the osmanthus tree festival, traditional lantern making, fireworks, and tide watching. In addition, the Public Security Bureau rated Hangzhou the most secure city in China.
China is more than a country it is a whole different world, from shop-till-you-drop metropolises to the epic grasslands of Inner Mongolia, with deserts, sacred peaks, astounding caves, and imperial ruins in between. Along with the stark contrasts comes stark beauty; there is plenty to see if you can wade through the crowds.

- Airport Pickup: $52 from Hangzhou airport. Pick-up may also be arrange from the main bus station or train station in Hangzhou (no charge)
