Playa del Carmen is located in the center of Mexico's Riviera Maya, at the Yucatan Peninsula. It is a small town still maintaining some of its charms of its former existence as a fishing village. Playa del Carmen is known for its beautiful white sand beaches surrounded by the warm, turquoise waters of the Caribbean. This location is also close to the fascinating Mayan ruins like Tulum, Coba, Chichen Itza and Chaak tun Cave. Playa del Carmen is only 45 min. away from Cancun and a one-hour ferry away from Cozumel Island. Those with an interest in snorkeling, diving, windsurfing, kitesurfing or just relaxing on the beach will find the area especially wonderful.

Law enforcement is a tough, tiring, often thankless job and Playa del Carmen offers a relaxing atmosphere to get away. Playa Del Carmen attracts tourists in flocks throughout the year and as a result is also a target for petty theft and other crimes, making it busy place for local Law Enforcement officials. AmeriSpan’s specialized Spanish for Law Enforcement program is designed for law enforcement professionals who have a need to communicate in Spanish on the job. Through a combination of group and private classes participants can learn the relevant vocabulary and common expressions as they relate to their specific professional area. We recommend that participants have at least an intermediate level of Spanish proficiency to gain the most from the program.

Participants: Mostly European, US/Canada and Australian ages 20-35.

Other: Located just six blocks from the beaches, this school with traditional mexican flair offers several covered outdoor classrooms, a cafeteria, volleyball court, reception area, garden area, and air conditioned meeting facilities. The open aired and air conditioned conference rooms are ideal for guitar and salsa classes, and weekly gatherings. Capacity is 100 students/day.
